Water Flows on Fire

Water on Fire

Learning to surrender;
Calling forth the space and time to contemplate,
to comprehend.

I heard you say the other day: “Do not fight with life; love your life.”
Challenging my thoughts, your wisdom echoes far and wide.

“What kind of a day are you inviting in your life,
when you open the door of your home, of your car, of your heart,
as if marching into a battlefield’s strife,
unmindful of the gentle currents, of the graceful flow?

Going against the grain with your words, attitudes, behaviors,
causing unnecessary struggle and pain.
To others, to yourself.”

“Remind yourself that grinding your teeth is a costly affair.”

“Can you learn to accept,
to welcome events as they choose to evolve,
with all the wisdom they present,
knowing you are always in God’s hands?”

You know it too well –
some plans work out, some change,
some others simply need more time.

Snowdrops bloom in early spring;
Sunflowers feed the bees until the winter’s seize.

I am a witness,
learning when to paddle,
when not to meddle,
when to simply let go and surrender to the flow.
Sometimes to the unexpected, to the unknown.
Accepting, to be blessed,
by the magical synchronicity of fractals – at its best.

After all, what is time,
if not my greatest ally,
my faithful friend,
inviting me to embrace new possibilities,
to taste, to dance,
to revel in the abundance of different realities.

To create synergies, to explore.
Learning to trust, to surrender.
Knowing that I can.
Knowing I am held by Grace.

Pausing in the stillness of the eddy,
while the flames are burning,
while the water’s churning the elixir that fuels my inner fire.

Unveiling the Art of Surrender –
a gateway towards the state of inner peace.
The waters keep on flowing,
her blazing flames forever glowing.

Sun Rays Tickling the Ocean Waves

Girl sitting by the fire on the beach, the boy next to the water, looking towards the horizon.

Dancing with the Sun Rays Tickling the Ocean Waves… all Across the Seven Seas

The moment when the two opposites meet and greet.
In the twinkling of an eye,
swept away by the palpable attraction,
two bipeds, taken over by the spell of nature,
they initiate a honey-sweet relation.

Until the mighty vigor of the fire clashes
against the unsurmountable force of water.
Like the sun and the ocean, endlessly romancing,
the waves never stop bouncing.

The fire and water, somehow,
find the most unusual ways to embrace.
Guiding our own primordial forces,
inviting us to express ourselves, to dance.

Yet, we, tiny-vast-human beings.
with all our aspirations, shortcomings,
anticipations, projections, and tone of reactions.
We struggle when our substratum
is still full of air bubbles.

How can fire continuously burn and glow,
how can water shine and flow if the foundation
cannot sustain the force of its own creation?

So much interference, obstruction, resistance, arrogance, pride,
with a lack of integrity, humility,
and pure love is gone,
with the flickering shadow
caused by the passing gust of wind.

Still, in their own unique ways,
both fire and water continue to rise,
from within.

To guide us,
to lead the way toward the horizon.
There – we meet again.
After all the struggles we had to face,
to understand, to overcome,
to rise above, to arrive at the place
where the Sun Rays tickle the Ocean Waves.
free to play, to dance, embrace, and romance.

A blissful sight to behold,
so innocent and tender sweet –
the heart expands, begins to sing.

If only we are blessed to see,
and realize how exquisite,
how precious,
how fragile Life is.

Gratitude to Fire, Wind, and Water.
To all the elements on Earth.

Let us never forget that we owe it all to Mother Nature.
All of our blessings, all of our lives and dreams.

Metamorphosis

The old is coming to an end—
the ancient one gripping tight,
as if nothing else matters.

As the grip of the old tightens,
the new can sense the waning hour of its rustic power.
The old knows, as soon as it lets go,
it has to give its final blessing,
that bit we call farewell.

The splendid bull
is standing on the plateau,
faced towards the sun,
rising from horizon.

The first few rays spill into the ocean,
just before the sun is up, above the skyline.
That breathless moment,
when existence appears to be standing still…

The ancient and the new.
A mystery as old as time.
What have I to learn from all that is passing by?

Decay, death, birth, a new start.

I give my gratitude to all that is fading away,
burning out, passing on its final emanating surge of power,
just before it’s time to give it up.

It’s time to give it up!
Your time, your rule, your reign is over.

An ocean of valuable lessons,
overflowing generosity,
kindness and good deeds…
All of it going towards new, fresh seeds.
It’s time to let go, graciously.

Out of the old roots grow the new shoots.
Come spring, watch the glory unfold in its full swing.

Roaring fireplace, several soft cushions,
the sound of crackling firewood,
a copper flask of water and myself,
gazing towards the blazing fire
as it eats the wood away,
sending vital heat my way.

Holding my favorite pen, I etch
the final few pages of my fifth notebook of this twilight year.

May the New Year be blessed
with infinite inspiration, joy, and strength
as we navigate through distinct moments:
joyful, challenging, struggling, healing,
messy, exiting, sad, hungry, happy.
May we learn, may we grow and become
wiser, suppler, more caring, and stronger
as we bravely sail on.

Out of the gracious Old
comes the radiant New!

The Blade Forged in Fire

Blazing amber

Finest blades are forged in roaring heat of fire. The kind of fire that does not leave behind any impurities. All that is impure burns away.

Can you imagine yourself being in the fire that purifies and draws out any remaining residues that serve you no more.

A fierce, willing, peaceful warrior with a distinct sword is an image I’ve always been mysteriously drawn to. The blade formed of 33,000 layers, forge-welded to one another – it leaps, it slopes, and pivots in my hands as one single blade. Don’t ever be fooled based on a simple looking appearance. It often takes 33,000 layers for magnificence to take place.

Attraction happen! How and why?

The magnet gets pulled towards the iron because of the magnetic properties of the attractor. Both the attracted object and the magnet react, they respond by moving closer, until they connect. Reaction depends on the size of the iron and the potency and the size of the magnet. Magnets have their opposite poles – they also attract one another and can only be kept apart by the same force.

As a child, I was fascinated by these reactions and would spend hours playing with the elements. I was learning about the properties of iron, copper, lead, melting zinc, playing with the fire torch, molding the zinc into different shapes and forms. I was fascinated by the way different elements respond to various treatments. Observing electricity gave me an insight into the world of the precious current we managed to capture to harness the energy that brings inanimate objects to life.

Amongst all I had on disposal, my most favorite was mercury they used to put in thermometers. I would sneak out the thermometer from the first aid cupboards and break it on purpose, only to add a few more silver drops to my precious collection. I could spend hours being mesmerized by the mysterious ways mercury moves. Watching how it seamlessly merges together and the way it separates when teased out, how it responds to temperature, with all the qualities it imbibes.
Trying to figure it out. Trying to understand what it is that makes this world and keeps it all together? Relationships, bonds, attraction between multiple elements coming together to enrich their own experience? To enhance our experience?

I believe that the law of attraction is innate, unique to each particle, element, object, human being.

The law of attraction cannot be imposed, unless you do it by force, which always backfires and distorts the balance in this world, because its foundation depends on complete harmony and seamless flow.

Why do we get attracted to certain people, places, food, objects, sounds, sights, emotions, scents? What is the secret of attraction?

Why does the honey bee get so attracted to the cherry blossom in its prime? They seem to complete each other – one providing food and the other continuity of life. The whole dance appears to be an ecstasy for the hungry bee. One is hungry, the other in abundance and existential need. It all happens for the sake of the fruit; the new seed needs to take place. Nature does this endlessly, its goal is to produce zillions of seeds, knowing that not all of them are meant to sprout and grow into another apple bearing tree. Only a handful of the strongest that promise continuity survives and continue the course of evolution.

What about us? Human beings? Where does attraction come from? What is the “thing” that creates magnetism? Why do we respond the way we do?

Two magnets, their opposite poles, pulling them together – the force. It takes equal force to keep them apart. What is the secret of attraction?

Is it fusion that occurs between two light atoms bonding together to make a another one? For life to emerge, there needs to be fusion. To enable this wonderful perpetual show. It makes perfect sense.

There are endless expressions of the law of attraction in this universe. Everything coming together-moving away, drawing nearer-drifting apart. When you zoom in, it appears so. But if you zoom out you will only ever see everything coming together. Very slowly, barely possible to notice, but nevertheless, it’s all coming home.

The larger the expressions of the Self, the stronger the law of attraction with its pulling force, the bigger the ripple effect in the space they infuse with their presence. For the greater good? Why not. Knowing I am being my larger Self I’m happy to consciously participate in this game called life.
